Hard drive warranties may be changing – 02182012

I checked the warranty section from the vendor for a Seagate 250G hard drive and it was listed with a 2 year warranty. Up till now most of the drives we have been using were 3Y or 5Y.  I guess as prices may return to some what normal in the near future we may see other unexpected changes.  I do not know if this is the trend yet, it just happened to be the 250G Seagate drive I was going to purchase for stock appears to only have the 2 year warranty. 

Still shopping to see if we can get drives with 3 year warranties will try to keep everyone posted.
