Sound off on hiring a Twitter specialist for a councilman – 04042012
Should political figures already in office be using tax payer money for Twitter image management and content. I am sure that many Twitter and marketing professionals will say sure why not? But, is that the right way to spend taxpayers money. Check out this article found at www.philly.com about Councilman Jim Kenney using ChatterBlast, ” SOCIALLY INEPT: Councilman Kenney pays private firm 29G to tweet for him.” by Holly Otterbein and William Bender. In their article they talk about agencies also hiring consultants for this purpose.
My thought is that it may be okay for a Govt. Department to do it but if it is for an individual and mostly for personal or political benefit they should probably pay for it out of their own pocket. What do you think?
