By the way eating organic does not mean I have to give up meat. While the goal of all farmers should be to move back to organic farming, there are costs that will be spread to the consumer. In the end it will generally be a little more expensive to grow completely Organic but it should not be at the levels we see today.  Today pricing for organics is based on demand, customers are willing to pay way more then they should have too.  But even more important as this article suggest how do you know if you are really getting organic products.

Organic farming practices are designed to encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution.Farmers who grow organic produce don’t use conventional methods to fertilize and control weeds. Examples of organic farming practices include using natural fertilizers to feed soil and plants, and using crop rotation or mulch to manage weeds.
